Be Salty

Our Bible study teacher was speaking as I took notes and present her digested message.

Christians everywhere are being persecuted for the Gospel’s sake.  The atmosphere in our schools, work places and homes is important.

Recently an Egyptian Christian arriving in America was amazed to attend church and not be harassed.

1 Peter 2:9  But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar (special) people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Jesus is our High Priest and we are the reflection of the kind of Life Christ lived.

How are we reflecting Christ and what description fits you and your life style?  Are you listening to the hurting and responding to their feelings and emotions?  We must tell the hurting that Jesus can fix it.

The priest had the responsibility to care for the temple, to light the incense and to make the sacrifice.

Keep busy serving, praying, studying and looking to share Jesus.    You can’t hold your breath forever.  Take time to take a deep breath.

Let salt be on our ears to heal our thoughts, and salt on our mouth to heal our words.  It is not about pushing away sin, but when there is more of Jesus there is no room for sin.

Worship changes you, so zero in on Jesus and what He has done.  Encounter the Holy Spirit and allow Him to Change you.

Jesus was gentle when he dealt with sinners.  We are reminded of the woman taken in adultery.  His harsh words were not to the woman but to the Religious leaders who felt superior and were haughty.

Satan calls you by your sin, but Jesus calls you by your name.  Let your conversation be honest even if you are criticized.  Some people jump to conclusions too quickly.  Slow down with your opinion, and be slow to anger.

God’s obligation is to shield you, and He gives the person freedom to make a different choice.  The truth is, some people are just mean.

Our teacher told how she worked with such a woman, and she decided to wash the woman’s feet.  She prepared a pan of water and told the woman to remove her shoes.  The experience changed her attitude.  An apology will also change the atmosphere.

They thought it for evil, but God changed it to good.  Perception was changed, and so was attitude.  Eventually your forgiveness will come back to you.

When others come against you, watch your attitude.

Christ honored the Father and He preached in a loving way.  Take time to encounter God in the Word and in worship.  Spend more time with the Father in the throne room.

Rev. Lim, head pastor at the Light Presbyterian Church in Toronto, had visited North Korea more than 100 times to distribute humanitarian aid for nursing homes, day-care centers and orphanages. Recently it was revealed that Lim had been arrested, brutally beaten and accused of trying to overthrow the country and establish a religious state.

We ask why did God allow this?  It was insanity, but all was processed for good.  God loved North Korea so much to send someone to minister to his people.

God loves those who live and work near you and He sends you to let your light shine in order to bring them to Christ.

Worshiping the Lord is all I can do, moment-by-moment, day-by-day... focusing on Heaven. I try to do the right thing, consistently, but won't know for sure until I AM in Heaven and someone will be grabbing me and explaining my situation. I just smile when worshiping and, as I said, focusing on Heaven. Can hardly wait!!
